Aquarisim is an interactive aquarium simulator that lets players create their own underwater world. Start with an empty tank, choose its dimensions, temperature, water pH and substrate, then add colourful fish, plants, rocks and driftwood. Arrange each item, adjust its size and position, and experiment with different layouts. Watch fish swim at different depths and form schools while subtle lighting brings the scene to life. Explore species information and care guidance as you build. Save your aquarium as a downloadable file, restore it later, or enjoy an immersive fullscreen view of your creation. Through Aquarisim, learners can explore how aquarium design connects biology, environmental science, mathematics and creativity. They can compare species’ preferred temperatures, pH ranges, tank sizes and compatibility, using this information to justify stocking choices. Adjusting tank dimensions and object sizes supports understanding of measurement, volume, scale and spatial relationships. Arranging plants and hardscape encourages planning, visual composition and iterative design. Observing simulated swimming zones and schooling introduces behavioural differences between species. Learners can save alternative designs, compare decisions and explain tradeoffs. Care guidance provides a starting point for research, while recognising that the simulation simplifies real aquarium ecosystems and husbandry.
